Phoenix Sangeet with Giuseppe and Nikitha
Being a part of Giuseppe and Nikitha’s wedding journey has been a beautiful experience. From their engagement photos to meeting their families and photographing their wedding, every step was a sentimental and wonderful experience. Of their many wedding celebrations, they invited me to also photograph their Sangeet.
A few days before their wedding, Nikitha’s parents hosted a Sangeet in their home. Traditionally, a Sangeet is a celebration to unite two families as one during a laid-back event before the wedding. (Source) There were colorful flowers everywhere, delicious food being served (with naan made fresh on-site!), dancing, and of course, henna being designed. Before the Sangeet, Nikitha sat patiently as henna was applied to her palms, back of her hands, arms, and feet. I can only imagine it took several hours! During the evening, several ladies applied henna to Giuseppe and Nikitha’s family members. A beautiful site to see just a few days later at their main wedding celebration.
Giuseppe and Nikitha, thank you for inviting me to photograph all of your wedding celebrations! It was the perfect way to honor your cultures and celebrate the joining of your families. Cheers to you!
I hope you enjoyed seeing photos from Giuseppe and Nikitha’s Sangeet! See more from their wedding here!
