Hacienda del Sol Wedding with Giuseppe and Nikitha
Giuseppe and Nikitha’s wedding is a beautiful celebration of two families, two cultures, and two souls coming together to begin something new. Their traditions were a central part of the planning process and were highlighted so eloquently throughout their day. From Giuseppe’s suit hand-sewn by his grandfather to Nikitha’s jewelry and henna, everything detail of their day was important. They thoughtfully combined Giuseppe’s Italian culture and Nikitha’s Indian culture with a few western traditions to create an incredibly unique wedding experience perfect for them.
Throughout their wedding day, they kept their families close and invited them to partake in every detail. Giuseppe and Nikitha prepared for the day with their extended families, being sure to highlight and thank their parents and extended families for being there. During their ceremony, Giuseppe and Nikitha participated in several traditional Indian rituals. The first was the Varmala, an exchanging of fresh flower garlands to symbolize the acceptance of one another and to seal their marriage. They also participated in the Saptapadi, a ceremony of taking 7 steps together to represent 7 promises to each other. During the reception, each side of their families and wedding party were given time to share stories and toasts. Each detail of the day was rooted in their culture and made their day that much more special.
Giuseppe and Nikitha, your wedding will always hold a special place in my heart. Your families reminded me so much of my own, their open hearts and hands welcomed me so lovingly. Thank you for choosing and trusting in me to capture so many of your milestones. It was a privilege to be apart of it all.
