I love getting to share my couple’s love stories, but I also love sharing personal stories from my daily life. It can sometimes be hard to balance photographing life events versus leaving the camera behind in an effort to be more present, but I’m thankful it’s an option I have while still getting to do what I love.
Recently, my friend Melissa invited me to join her at the Lantern Fest in Phoenix. Having previously seen videos and photos from lantern events in the past, I knew it would be a rad experience. Hosted by Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek, the Lantern Fest provided food trucks and live music as we anxiously anticipated the night sky.
As soon as lanterns began floating into the darkness, I grabbed my camera. It was mesmerizing to watch hundreds of lanterns disappear. This is one personal story I’m SO glad I brought my camera to witness.
