Romantic Beach Proposal in Puerto Penasco, Mexico

As a photographer, one of the greatest honors is to be invited into special milestones of my dearest friends. When my sweet friend Jessica asked me to photograph her son’s proposal during the family vacation to Puerto Penasco, my reply was an immediate “yes!”

Living in the Phoenix area, Puerto Penasco is a popular beach vacation spot. It’s a quick four hour drive and easily accessible across the Arizona border. Puerto Penasco is known for it’s stunning beaches, warm ocean water, outdoor activities, and delicious Mexican seafood. It’s definitely worth a visit and a personal favorite of mine.

Planning the logistics for a proposal session can be tricky but thankfully, Jessica had every detail planned. I photographed her husband and children for a mini family session and then asked to photographed Jayden and his girlfriend, Emma. During their portraits, Jessica secretly handed Jayden the ring and he dropped to a knee and popped the big question. Emma’s reaction might be one of my all time favorites (you’ll have to scroll down to see). She literally levitated, jumping up and down with so much joy. We continued their portraits with champagne and watching the sunset on the beach. It was such a romantic evening!
