Monument Valley is a truly underrated and unique location for a proposal. Located at the Utah and Arizona border, it’s about a 5 – 6 hour drive from Phoenix. This spot is perfect for travel-loving couples who don’t mind being in a remote location.
2. Horseshoe Bend
Horseshoe Bend has become a popular spot recently and for good reason. The views are quite spectacular and totally worth the 10-15 minute walk from the parking lot. It does get pretty crowded, especially at sunset, so opt for a sunrise proposal and you’ll be perfect!
3. Sedona Red Rocks
Sedona has always been a romantic getaway location. You literally cannot find a bad photo spot here. From Cathedral Rock to Devil’s Bridge, there are endless options for hiking, staycations, and delicious food. It’s perfect for the outdoorsy and indoorsy alike!
4. Superstition Mountains
The Superstition Mountains are a local favorite for Phoenix residents. The mountains offer dozens of trails to explore. From Lost Dutchman on the North side to Peralta Trail towards the South, the saguaros are endless and the views are unforgettable.

The Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens offered a beautifully curated backdrop for a proposal. They offer multiple scenic locations, perfect for popping the question. The best part of this location is that as a photographer, I can blend into plain sight, and your soon-to-be fiancé will not notice a professional photographer.
