When Tessa and I chatted about her session to celebrate her senior year of high school, all she could talk about was ADVENTURE, and it made me SO HAPPY! This was my kind of senior session!

After talking through options, I mentioned there was an experimental town about 70 miles north of Phoenix called Arcosanti. Tessa was thrilled at the idea of exploring this town to take her senior photos!

We took a guided tour through Arcosanti and learned about it’s history and purpose. One of my favorite things is that there’s no A/C or heating in the town, but Paolo Soleri (the architect) designed the buildings in a way to naturally cool and heat the environment. It’s one of the most incredible designs I’ve experienced. I sometimes geek out on science stuff, so if you do too, here’s a link to read more about Arcosanti!

One of the passions Tessa and I share is a passion for traveling. We’ve both traveled to Kenya to spend time with local orphanages, loving on their adorable children. Tessa visited Kenya in 2013 with her church, Cornerstone. As she told me stories from her trip, I could tell that Kenya holds a special place in her heart, and I’m sure she’ll visit again soon!
