Intimate Yosemite Elopement with Jon and Steph
Dreamy elopements seem to be the theme of 2020, and they’ve become a light within a dark year. Couples have resiliently pivoted their wedding plans and have reevaluated what truly matters to them and what their dream wedding days would look like. Jon and Steph are one of the many couples who have postponed their original wedding plans without certainty when the big day would arrive. But ultimately, their love and desire to be married overcame the uncertainty and they planned an elopement at Tenaya Lodge Resort just outside Yosemite National Park.
On the day of their elopement, we piled into an suv and headed towards Glacier Point for their first look. To keep Steph’s look top-secret, Jon was blindfolded during the hour-long car ride into the park. He was the true champion in setting the scene for their first look in Yosemite.
The early morning hours combined with the residual smoke from the California wildfires created a misty vibe for their first look and portraits. We spent the first part of our morning exploring the boulders and taking epic photos with Half Dome peeking through behind them. Then we traveled to the trailhead for Taft Point, the home of our second location! We hiked the mile-long trail, explored the lookout point, took more epic photos, and then hiked back for their ceremony.
Jon and Steph’s immediate family joined us for an intimate ceremony at the Tenaya Lodge. The forest made a perfect backdrop for sharing their vows and family photos. It was a truly dreamy, heartfelt ceremony. Jon and Steph, thank you for having Melissa and I join you for such a beautiful wedding. We are so honored.
