Anniversary Photos in the Superstition Mountains
Getting to make photo magic in the desert is a deep love of mine. There’s something so serene, mesmerizing, and raw about the Phoenix desert. I’m eternally grateful that my time as a photographer is spent in the Southwest, there’s no where else I’d want to be.
It’s also extra special when a fellow friend, photographer, and artist reaches out for an adventurous photo session. Each year, I attend a photo conference in Phoenix called United (see a styled shoot I hosted at United). Hundreds of photographers from around the States come together for a week of learning, bonding, and growing. I first met Allison in 2018 during her yoga breakout session where she taught us how to move our body and center ourselves in the midst of being a busy photographer (I think we could all use this!). I loved her class and it ultimately led me to sign up for a local Pilates class that I still attend on the regular! Allison is also an incredible Ohio based wedding and portrait photographer (check her out, really). When Allison and her husband, Jason, reached out for a portrait session, I was floored! It’s incredibly flattering to be chosen by another photographer to create art and bring their vision to life. Bring on the pressure! 😉
The truth is though, there was no pressure. Jason and Allison were so freaking cute in front of the camera, they made my job so easy! They were pumped to see the raw, Arizona desert in real life and I was beyond elated to capture them in my favorite place.
