Annual Bestie Girls Trip

Annual Bestie Girls Trip

Each year, my bestie, Meghan, and I take a girls trip. We first met at summer camp when we were 12 years old, can you believe it?! We’ve been friends throughout so many crucial life stages and changes and I’m beyond grateful this strong woman is in my life!

Throughout most of our adulthood, we’ve lived in different states, her in California and me in Arizona. We did both live in San Francisco for about a year, and thankfully, we were just a few streets from each other! At the time, I thought I’d stay in SF long term. I wish I would’ve known I’d make my way back to Arizona and made the most of my time there. But now, Meg and I keep our friendship alive with daily Marco Polos and yearly girl’s trips!

Somewhere around 2017, we began planning annual girl’s trips together. We’ve been to the Napa/Sonoma area, San Diego, and of course, many trips to SF and Phoenix in between. Earlier this year (pre covid) we adventured to Los Angeles. Maybe next year we’ll make it out of California. 😉

In early February of 2020, we made our way to Los Angeles and Anaheim. We spent our first day having a quintessential LA brunch at BBCM Cafe, complete with a mimosa flight. We then set off to explore the Getty. Back in college, Meg and I took a trip to LA and saw the Getty for all of 30 minutes (thanks to poor planning and typical LA traffic). This was our chance to redeem ourselves and see the Getty in all her glory. And glorious it was!

After having a rad day at The Getty, we drove to Anaheim for the real reason for our trip: Disneyland! Meg and I are both big Disney fans, and if you can believe it, before this trip we’d never been there together! So we were super pumped to spend two full days at Disney and California Adventure. We also had a surprise third wheel join us while at Disney, my babe Mr. Mike Goodrick! Mike was in Ventura for work the few days before our trip and the three of us agreed it would be so much for him to crash our girls trip! Mike and Meg are basically the same person and while we’re together, I’m the third wheel. So although it sounds crazy, it really was the perfect Disney trip!

Here’s a peek at our random girls trip plus Mike. YAY!
