Highlighting my favorite wedding vendors in the industry is one of my favorite topics to share about on this blog. There are so many amazing wedding industry creatives and I know choosing from amongst them can be a whirlwind, so I’ll make it easy for ya. 😉
Amber is the founder, owner, and lead hair and makeup artist with Something Beautiful Styles. I first met Amber at a local wedding venue’s open house. We’ve had the chance to work together at weddings, attend local Tuesday’s Together meetings, and of course, drink lots of coffee together. Amber has a salon in Old Town Scottsdale and it’s the cutest thing ever! Not only are they a full-service on-location wedding hair and makeup team but their salon also offers a full list of services. Amber’s team is also my go-to for the boudoir photography I offer. They really can do it all! I’ve also been personally pampered by Amber’s amazing team and can attest to how great they truly are! How long ago did you open Something Beautiful?
I was part owner with another hair and makeup team for 4 years but in May 2016, started Something Beautiful Hair and Makeup to specialize in on-location hair and makeup for weddings. Shortly after this, Ashlee Miller and I started the second part of Something Beautiful and began our Bridal Boutique and Salon.
Where did your inspiration come from to open a hair & makeup business?
I personally love weddings and being a part of someone’s special day but didn’t see a lot of on-location services and businesses that had an entire team. Brides want hair and makeup for themselves, their bridal party, and their families. Just one person isn’t enough to provide all of those services. I saw a need and decided to fill it. I’ve created a team of stylists who love weddings and share the same passion as I do for wedding hair and makeup.
What’s unique about you and what you offer?
I think we are unique because we match our brides intentionally to the stylist that’s the best fit for them. We want to make everything as easy as possible for brides, so we travel to them on their wedding day and have a team to accommodate several bridesmaids and family members at the same time.
How early should brides begin thinking about hair & makeup?
I suggest booking a hair and makeup team 9-12 months before a wedding, especially if they are getting married in a popular month. It’s honestly never too early!
What’s your favorite aspect of hair and makeup?
Making people look and feel beautiful and radiant, on the inside and out!
Do you offer any other services other than hair and makeup?
Our Bridal Boutique and Salon is a full-service experience for our brides and all of our amazing clients. When they have a special event to attend or the biggest moment of their life, we want them to look and feel absolutely stunning. Our boutique has everything in one location and an experience they’ll truly love.
